I'm in a relationship with this guy..yet but here's the story.

I traveled to China with my college for a cultural exchange. We stayed in the International Students Dorm, with students from South Korea, Holland, France, Canada, and another part of America.

I always sat outside with a lot of the boys from Holland. This one in particular always stayed out longer with me, we shared music on our ipods and talked about our Chinese adventures.

His group left before mine did so before he left I made him give me his e-mail so we could keep in touch. He seemed hesitant to do it, but he did.

Once I returned to America I emailed him..We emailed for six months straight, almost every day! I didn't know if I liked him, but I know I looked forward to his emails. We talked about anything from work to problems at homes, to music and our hopes and dreams.

He told me I should visit his country, so I bought a plane ticket and flew 4,000 miles from Philadelphia, PA to Dusseldorf Germany (close to Holland)

For ten days we were with each other 98% of the time. By night three our feelings for each other showed. We had the best time together. He showed me his country and taught me some of the language. We really got to know each other on a deep personal basis.

When it came time to leave I couldn't stop crying. I didn't want to leave the one person I felt happiest around.

I've been home for almost two months..We talk every day on MSN and Skype. In February he is coming to visit me for two weeks and I'll get to show him some of the East coast of America.

I cannot wait to be with him again. He knows more about me than most people do; stupid things, pet peeves, what makes me laugh, smile, angry, everything. He's the easiest person to talk to and we are a lot alike. He's a really sweet funny guy and he makes me smile for than anything. He's already opened my world up so much.

Even though we aren't offically "together" its sort of like we are. Being all the way across the Atlantic Ocean is hard..but we make it work. thank you technology<3 hahaha.

He may come back to America in the summer, or I will go back to Holland..can't wait to see what will happen!

I met Jay on facebook just over a year ago in January, i had posted a picture of my tattoo on a group page and he had commented on it. I added him to say thankyou, and he started private messaging me. I live the UK and he lives in California, however he is in the Navy and was deployed in Iraq at this time. I didnt think anything of it, untill we started talking everyday all day, i'd go to work and email him off my work computer all day, then i'd rush home to talk to him until the early hours of the morning. We'd skype allll night and facebook private msg allll day. He left Iraq in the august and returned to his home town of California. By now we had told each other we loved each other and i was crazy about him. It was really hard because now we were now 8hours apart, rather than 2 and he was now busy working everyday.

i booked a flight for the september to California to go and see him. The feeling was unreal and it was amazing! He came to the UK for xmas with my family, and they loved him!! he proposed at xmas and im going back over for 5 months in feb and moving there in september!!My family have been really supportive!! It just shows that LDRs can work if you put the effort into them!!! Wish you all the best!! :D

My girlfriend and I have been together for 3 years, and half been away from each other for more than 2 years of it.

I met her while working with her brother in construction. I'd swing by his house to pick him up, and while he was getting ready to go, Bridget would come out to talk to me. We hit it off from there... I was 17, she just turned 15. Things were as great as could be, we were head over heels for each other. One day, my family told me we were moving to Hawaii, my Dad had an opportunity for a job at the hospital in Honolulu. Being 17, I didn't really have a say. Even though we'd been together just months, we had an amazing connection I couldn't let go of. We exchanged visits... I flew to Missouri, she flew to Hawaii with an average away-time of about 6 months... the longest we'd been was 10... We're still incredibly in love with each other... nothing's changed. If anything, this distance has made us realize how much we mean to each other. I'm now 20, she's 18, and I'm working at the same hospital as my dad, building a career for us to start a family. I'm moving back in 6 months... Life is good.

The Masked Truelovers met on a Christian Dating Site in July of 2008. From the first chat we instantly connected. The passion between us built naturally day by day. A few days before we would meet for the first time in person, I had already asked her to be my girlfriend.

Twenty-three days after we chatted online, we hugged and kissed for about an hour immediately after our vehicles pulled up next to each other in an empty school parking lot. Our bodies had finally caught up with what our souls had been experiencing for over 3 weeks of online and telephone communication. And our connection was solidified.

For over a year, we would meet every weekend across two States, alternating driving or meeting midway. We married at a Country-style Bed and Breakfast with a few close family and friends 13 1/2 months after our first online chat. About the same time that we got married, we also created a website where we could share the experiences of our long distance relationship (http://www.long-distance-love.com).

We still live in two States, but are together more often now because of a recent layoff. We will not be joined together permanently until 2012 because of our teenagers by our first marriages, but our love is strong and the times we are together are always wonderful.
