My boyfriend and I have shared a semi-long distance relationship for 2 1/2 years now. We first met when the two of us were in highschool and became quick friends. We remained close until he graduated and moved to college later that year. We kept occasional contact but nothing really significant.
Then 2 years later (my junior year of highschool) I randomly spotted him on facebook and decided to say "hi." That turned into a three hour long conversation. After that we spoke frequently for hours at a time, but not too often because I was in a relationship at the time. But when the relationship I was in dissolved we began speaking everynight. After a few months we decided to start dating even though he lived 3 hours away. We dated that way through my senior year of highschool. But my #1 college (the one I attend now)happened to be 1500 miles away. I talked to him about it and he told me to go for my dreams, so here we are now 2 1/2 years later, video chatting on occasion and speaking on the phone everynight.
Things are wonderful, but much more difficult lately due to the fact that his brother has a serious girlfriend now and they enjoy some serious PDA. Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with envying their ability to be close?

I have taken the time to look online, and read some of the people's stories. Sure, some long distance relationships do not last. All I know is we may be almost 2,000 miles apart, but it doesn't stop my heart from feeling the way it doesn't. I met him on a site called myyearbook. He admired me, and i happened to click him, he sent me a friend request and i accepted. We began talking, I didn't think anything of it. Here it is, 2 weeks later, skyping for over a week. I've been hurt in the past, and I loved someone else dearly. I have never felt such intense feelings as these. I may be only seventeen, and he is nineteen. The heart wants what it desires. Distance is just another obstacle, you find ways to get over it. I live in NC, and he lives in Colorado. I hope one day very soon to find the courage to tell my parents, and they won't stop me. I'd like to get a job so I can afford visits, and I also hope one day to fall in love with this guy. :) Do not let people tell you that you cannot make it. Follow your heart, even if you have to follow it miles away. Love endures all!
